Many persons have compared with Knol with Wikipedia and there are many web pages and blogs with negative comments about knol.
They said there is no uniform formatting, no continous update of the material, etc.
If Knol is treated as an encyclopedia that should provide a single structured piece of information to people those criticisms may be valid. But when you look at Knol as a knowledge management system that facilitates knowledge creation, knowledge searching-finding, collaboration in knowledge synthesis with divergence in thinking, simultaneous development of multiple paradigms on a topic in an open collaboration platform, knowledge integation through creative common attribution licence within the knol itself, and knowledge utilization by attracting a large visitors base, Knol is evolving into powerful platform.
